Strategic Plan 2025-2027

March 4, 2025

AGC’s goals and objectives for the next 3 years

As AGC’s network has grown over the last several years, we’ve needed new tools, systems, and people-power to regularly convene AGC members, centralize accessible information, and effectively and responsibly steward our network’s resources. Following our initial strategic plan, we are now ready to embark on a strategic plan that is action-oriented, with an emphasis on pilot projects, marketing campaigns, technical assistance, and microgrants.

See our 2022-2024 Strategic Plan

Our second strategic plan has been developed and informed by years of steadily engaging with our membership and assessing what exists along with what next steps could make the most impact. You can see a visual summary of this inquiry here:

AGC’s first strategic plan marked a major milestone for our organization and network. A primary focus of AGC’s 2022-24 strategic plan was to regularly bring groups of members together to build relationships, co-learn, and better understand the assets, barriers, and opportunities in building a more resilient grainshed in the Midwest. A sampling of activities over the 3 years includes:

  • Completing six assessments and surveys to better understand what the Midwest grainshed needs to thrive
  • Collaboratively developing and publishing seven major resources to serve identified needs in the grainshed
  • Hosting 11 virtual Community Calls, 5 in-person Grain Chain Gatherings, 58 Working Group Meetings, and 4 New Member Orientations
  • Hosting 3 annual meetings, including AGC’s first 10-Day Annual All-Member Meeting (Barnstormers!) in 2024
  • Sharing 36 editions of The Crumb featuring happenings and AGC member spotlights across our 8-state region

Member input into AGC's second strategic plan included comments offered during our three Barnstormer events in 2024, held in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, as well as discussions among a combined group of AGC staff and the members who make up our Steering Committee and Coordinating Committee.
